WELCOME TO THE CRAFT CLUB
Almeley Craft Club was formed in September 2003, and has a membership of around 30 men and women of all ages.
We meet in Almeley Village Hall as follows:
- alternate Monday mornings from 9.45am
to 12-15pm
- alternate Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm
to 9.00pm
We have regular demonstrations and workshops, by invited guests and club members. In November we have the opportunity to display and sell our work. We also make things for the Samaritans Purse charity. In the village hall, there is a permanent display area for our work, which is periodically changed.
In the summer we do displays and give demonstrations at various venues - Kington Show and Weobley Ploughing Match, being just two of them. Other events in the Club callendar are trips to Craft Shows at Cardiff and Cheltenham, and a meal out at Christmas.
Following an invitation from Weobley School, the Craft Club has been involved in giving tuition to children there. This covers various crafts such as card making, badge and brooch making, knitting etc., all of which have proved very popular with the children.
Additional Information:
Having had a great deal of sucess with the above banners for the Leominster Flower Festival, the Craft Club has decided to make banners for the Craft Club. The banners are just one example of the creativity of Craft Members, and of the high standard of work done.
Note: We have a small, informal,(men and women) affiliated Woodcarving Group, which meets at Lady Hawkins' School, Kington, on alternate Thursday evenings from 7.00 until 9.00pm. New members are welcome.
