Neighbourhood Watch; Home

ALMELEY NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

This local branch of Neighbourhood Watch is recognised by the Police and covers the whole of Almeley Parish and parts of Sarnesfield and adjacent areas.

All residents of the Parish can consider themselves to be members.

Comparatively little crime has been committed in this area in recent years and the purpose of Neighbourhood Watch is to keep it that way, by encouraging residents to be alert to any suspicious or criminal activity and to warn their neighbours and the Police about it.

The Police, on their part, issue warnings about local crime and Neighbourhood Watch passes these on, when appropriate.

ACCESS TO THE POLICE.

This area is policed by the West Mercia Constabulary, with a Divisional H.Q.at Hereford. A small part of the force is stationed at Churchill Road, Kington.

The PC for this part of the Kington District is Sharon Wilson and her mobile no.is 07977098394. The Community Support Officer for this part of the Kington District is Donna Jones. You can consult her on any problems of social disorder or nuisance. Her mobile phone number is 07970 602340., or you can leave a message to either of these officers on 01432 346711. DO NOT USE THESE NUMBERS IN AN EMERGENCY.

The Police have an informative website at www.westmercia.police.uk which gives, among a lot of other things, crime statistics for Herefordshire. Our share of these is not shown seperately, but is very small.

If you come across a crime which has been commited, or see any suspicious behaviour or callers, report it to the Police Control Room on 0300 333 3000. This will get your information into their daily programme. ( This is a new number; the old 08457 444 888 will still work until November 2009, but start using the new number now.)

If you are in direct danger, or are seeing a crime being commited , ring 999.
